The Sound of Ground – An Interview and Reading by Yours Truly

05/07/2021 by Andrew Peterson

I did an interview today with Seth Harwood discussing the evolution of private eye Adrian Tannhauser, a little bit of my own evolution, and I even read a little bit from my first published short story “Green River.” Check it out right here!

Would you say that he’s (Adrian Tannhauser) out of the mold of Raymond Chandler’s essay, “Simple Art of Murder”– down these mean streets a hero must go?

Yeah, I’d say it started there, certainly but when I created the character I tried to figure out what does that look like seventy years on from when Chandler wrote that? You know, what does that character look like in the 21st century? So I crafted him around that mindset.

―Andrew C. Peterson, discussing the creation of ‘Adrian Tannhauser’ in an interview with author/editor Seth Harwood.

And hey–do you have your second issue of Ground Fiction featuring the short story “Jesse Belden” from Elizabeth Wetmore, the bestselling author of Valentine yet? If not, why NOT, for heaven’s sake? But fear not! You can get the latest and greatest issue of Ground Fiction right here!

If you already have a copy, what did you think of my latest Tannhauser adventure “Eighteen at Cedar Junction”?

Finally, if you want to learn even more about the fantastic writers featured in Ground Fiction, head on over to the website here to read essays as well as listen to interviews (like mine) with writers Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Elizabeth Coleman, Alyce Werdel, Jeannie Hua, and many others! Find your new favorite authors in their own words!
